The next generation of satellite services is taking shape before our eyes, both on the ground and in the sky. But how well will they meet the real needs of end-users? Satellite excels at providing one-to-many transmission cost-effectively and with high reliability, as well as bringing advanced communications capability to locations where none exists. Next-gen system in Ka, Ku and C bands aim to drastically increase throughput, which will translate into a lower cost-per-bit and massively higher bandwidth for IP-based services. Will they strengthen the benefits that users appreciate in today’s satellite systems? If they aim instead to create new capabilities supporting new applications, what value will end-users place on them?   Moderated by Louis Zacharilla, Director of Development, World Teleport Association
