MEDIA BROADCAST and ProSiebenSat.1 agree on continuation of the DTT distribution to 2018

ProSiebenSat.1 programmes continue to be receivable via digital terrestrial television • Attractiveness of DTT with great variety of programmes secured • Bernd Kraus: "Proof of performance and sustainability of digital terrestrial television"

Bonn | 2 April 2013  MEDIA BROADCAST, a leading full-service provider in the broadcasting and media industries, and the ProSiebenSat.1 Group have extended their contracts for the DTT distribution to 2018.

The long-term commitment of ProSiebenSat.1 ensures the long-term attractiveness of digital terrestrial television in Germany. Up to 2018, it is ensured that in addition to public service programmes and special-interest channels, the offers of the ProSiebenSat.1 Group will also be received by antenna.

Thus DTT offers viewers a permanently large variety of programmes that can be easily accessed and without running costs. According to the digitization report of the German State Media Authorities, nearly 5 million TV households in Germany use digital terrestrial broadcasting, of which 3.7 million households in their primary TV set. By the continuation of DTT distribution ProSiebenSat.1 is also ensuring additional coverage for the advertising market.

The terrestrial broadcasting platform is the most popular way for TV reception for consumers in Germany after satellite and cable - convenient, cost-efficient and location independent.
