Broadpoint, owned by an affiliate of H.I.G. Capital, is the new name of the merged telecommunications companies of PetroCom LLC, Sola Communications and Coastel Communications. The new organization now offers the most flexible and complete range of cellular and satellite communications, custom engineered solutions, and antennae and tower services available for offshore and onshore companies operating in remote environments worldwide.

To reach new broadcast markets, the UpLit division was created in 2002 when the company teamed with Cox Communications to provide satellite distribution of Cox Sports Television to more than 1 million Gulf South area cable subscribers. Currently, UpLit performs uplinks of sporting events, live news coverage and conventions with its digital satellite truck and teleport facility.

A partnership with Cox Communications Business Services allows UpLit’s teleport facility to connect to Cox’s fiber backbone for direct access to the Superdome, New Orleans Arena, Convention Center, and hotels and businesses in the New Orleans metro region. Full production studio facilities and single camera SNG crews are also available.

UpLit is the only full service satellite telecommunications company in the New Orleans area delivering reliable connectivity for program origination and distribution, live shots, tape feeds, satellite media tours, and video news releases.

UpLit is a division of Broadpoint, Inc., a leading analog and digital cellular carrier in the Gulf of Mexico offering a complete range of cellular and satellite services, custom engineered solutions and antenna and tower services for offshore and onshore companies.
