The ViaSat Mobile Satcom System brings affordable broadband Internet via commercial satellite to ground, airborne, and maritime platforms while in motion. Tactical warfighters and first responders rely on this system for on-the-move information sharing such as video conferencing and high-speed Internet access. Any mobile applications requiring cable modem-like performance while on the move can benefit greatly in both performance and service costs with this system.

The system features a very small aperture antenna and ArcLight® technology to combat the effects of satellite signal blockage to deliver cost-effective broadband access while in motion. The Mobile Satcom System is operating on several platforms ranging from Black Hawk helicopters to HMMWVs.

The ViaSat Mobile Satcom System enables the use of broadband IP-based applications while on the move, such as:

  • Two-way video conferencing
  • Voice (secure and unsecure)
  • Whiteboard collaboration
  • IPSEC, Corporate VPN
  • Video broadcast
  • SIPRNet/NIPRNet access
  • Internet access

During NAB2007, a vehicle equipped with ViaSat's Mobile Satcom System will be on display in the TracStar outdoor exhibit area #OE341.
